I was just doing some research for a project and I came across a web site saying that David Sudnow passed away in 2007. I reviewed his book Ways of the Hand in 2003, here, it starts about halfway down on the page.

I just finished reviewing Lyle Massey's new book, Picturing Space, Displacing Bodies:
Anamorphosis in Early Modern Theories of Perspective and I will post it when it is online.  For now, I do want to mention one aspect of the book that keeps running through my mind: Cartesian Perspectivalism.

Obituary: Robert N. Beck, 80, Leader in Advancing Scanning for Medical Diagnoses, Dies

I was so sorry to see that Robert Beck died on August 6th.  The obituary is here and here. He had studied mathematics and physics and did incisive early work on using radioactive materials for medical imaging.
